Hating disobedient women is a good thing. |
The AVfM introductory post actually links to an “offender alert” WordPress blog which is dedicated to doxxing the woman. (I’m not directly linking to that website and I’m not going to use the woman’s name. You can find it on your own if you doubt me). There are photos of her as well as a detailed description, including any “identifying marks, scars and tattoos.” Her address is listed with a link to Google maps. It also lists what car she drives and her “suspected” IP address. As if all that wasn’t bad enough, the site has also published photos of this woman’s husband and baby daughter. I don’t care if she’s Atilla the freaking Hun, you do not publish photos of her family.
And all of this is absolutely about trying to terrify and intimidate her so that she’ll recant her story. There is no reason to publish photos of someone’s child unless you are trying to threaten them. What’s more, we know that it is intimidating her; the website gives details to her Tumblr, Pintrest and Twitter accounts which were all deactivated within a few days of each other (not coincidentally within a couple weeks of when this despicable website was started).
Finally, lest you think that the website is an anomaly, check out this comment at the AVfM article which has received 10 upvotes:
Uh, what were those names again? Let’s see [names removed], three of apparently several people who need to become “famous.”That shit is not okay, and that shit is not how a human rights movement conducts itself. That is exactly how a hate group functions.
Deal me in. Some Shit needs to be Fucked Up.
Here comes the cavalry from hell; we have your back Mr. Alahverdian.
I’ve reported the WordPress blog for violating the Terms of Service; here’s hoping it’s actually taken down. If you would like to report it, contact me and I’ll provide you a link to it. Or if you find the website on your own, here’s what I sent in on my report. Feel free to copy it if you’d like (I removed the woman’s name below, but included it in the report):
This content publishes the personal information, including the home address, of a woman for the purpose of intimidating and harassing her. This blog contains implicit threats and violates her right to privacy by publishing this information, particularly her suspected IP address. What’s more, the blog is named after [name removed], which misleads readers into thinking this blog was actually set up by her, when it was not.Edit to Add: Alternatively, you can Tweet at WordPress at @wordpress or @wordpressdotcom Or you can Retweet THIS or THIS.
Update October 29 at 3:50pm: It looks as though WordPress won’t be taking down the site without a court order. Horrible. Freaking horrible.
Okay, so I’ve now brought up (again) how the website violates the TOS because the URL is using the name of someone other than the person running the blog. Retweet THIS to bring WordPress’ attention to the issue.
Update November 2: The doxxing website has taken down the pictures of the woman’s family, her real life address and her IP address. Not a complete victory, but it’s something.
